Dispatch For New Authority Carriers
The first ninety days on a new authority are the hardest. Many brokers will not work with an authority under six months old, your safety record is empty, and every carrier packet asks for something slightly different.
We cannot make your authority older. What we can do is get your packets completed correctly and quickly with the brokers who do work with new authorities, so you are booking rather than waiting.
What This Looks Like In Practice
Broker Setups Done Properly
MC verification, W-9, insurance certificates, Notice of Assignment, banking and factoring details — completed accurately the first time.
Brokers Who Work With New Authorities
Not every broker has a six-month rule. We know which ones do not.
Credit Checks From Day One
A new authority can least afford a load that does not get paid. We check broker credit and payment history before booking.
Paperwork Habits That Stick
Getting POD, BOL and lumper receipts right from the first load is far easier than fixing the habit six months in when your factor starts rejecting submissions.
The real problem
The Constraint Is Access, And It Is Temporary
The first ninety days on a new authority are the hardest period this business has. Many brokers will not work with an authority under six months old. Your safety record is empty, which reads as unknown rather than good. Every carrier packet wants something slightly different, and until they are complete you cannot book at all.
Nobody can make your authority older. Anyone who claims otherwise is selling something. What can be changed is how many brokers you are actually set up with — because that number, not the age of your MC, is what determines how much freight you can reach today.
That is where most new authorities lose their first month. They wait until a good load appears to start a broker setup, discover it takes three days, and lose the load. Meanwhile the truck payment is due regardless.
We build the setup list in advance and we prioritise the brokers who do work with new authorities. It is unglamorous administrative work and it is the single highest-value thing anyone can do for a carrier in their first quarter.
Getting started
What The First Week Looks Like
- 1
Paperwork Gets Assembled Once
Authority, insurance certificate, W-9, Notice of Assignment, banking and factoring details — gathered in a single pass rather than chased repeatedly.
- 2
Setups Go Out In Volume
Prioritising brokers known to work with new authorities, so your accessible market grows from day one.
- 3
Broker Credit Gets Checked Hard
A new authority can least afford a load that does not pay. We are deliberately more conservative here than with an established carrier.
- 4
Paperwork Habits Start Right
Getting POD, BOL and lumper receipts correct from the first load is far easier than fixing the habit six months in when your factor starts rejecting submissions.
That first week is free. We find you a load, negotiate the rate, dispatch it and handle the broker — and you only continue if it justified itself. We do not publish rates because the honest answer depends on how you run, and a week of real work tells you more than any number on a page.
Questions
Dispatch Services for New Authority Carriers — common questions
How new is too new?
If your authority is active and your insurance is in place, we can work with you. We have onboarded carriers in their first week. The market is tighter at that stage, but it is not closed.
Which brokers work with new authorities?
More than most new carriers expect. The six-month rule is common but far from universal, and knowing which brokers apply it is a large part of the value in the first quarter.
Should I factor as a new authority?
Many do, because thirty-day terms are difficult when the truck payment is monthly. It costs a percentage and it solves a real cash-flow problem. We work with whichever factor you choose and handle the submissions.
What if I have not got my authority yet?
Call anyway. We will talk you through what brokers will require once you are live, so the paperwork is ready rather than started from scratch on day one.
